Build a one-page energy budget before you buy
List every load
Record rated watts, quantity, expected hours and whether devices run together. Use a plug-in power meter when the label is unclear. Motorized or compressor loads may have a startup surge that needs separate confirmation.
Calculate energy
Multiply watts by hours for each device, then add the totals. For batteries, work from charger input or measured wall consumption rather than assuming the battery label equals energy drawn from the station.
Add operating reserve
Leave margin for conversion losses, temperature, variable loads, cable or charger inefficiency and an unplanned extra cycle. If the estimate already consumes nearly all nominal capacity, move up a class or add a recharge plan.
Simple example
A 120W device running for four hours represents 480Wh before conversion losses. Add two 100W laptop chargers used for two hours and the planned total becomes 880Wh. That is already close to the nominal capacity of a 1,024Wh station, so the operator should validate actual loads and reserve rather than expecting a full four-hour session from the headline capacity alone.

Match the recharge route to the schedule
DJI supports grid, compatible solar and compatible vehicle charging routes, but the required accessories and achievable speed depend on the exact configuration. A fast grid recharge is useful between jobs; vehicle or solar charging can extend a mobile workflow, but weather, panel placement, driving time and accessory limits make results variable.
Power 1000 V2’s 56-minute full-charge claim is a DJI controlled-test figure in Fast Recharge Mode. Treat it as a maximum-condition reference, not a promise for every outlet, temperature or power level.
Expansion changes portability
Both families support compatible expansion options. Expansion can be more economical than replacing a base unit when needs grow, but every additional battery adds weight, cables, storage and setup steps.
