The core cleaning platform is shared. Pay more only when the transparent finish, roller choice or flagship station extras solve a real household need.
THE SHORT ANSWER
ROMO S is the value choice; A and P are targeted upgrades.
Choose ROMO S if you want the shared navigation, 25,000 Pa maximum suction, extendable edge-cleaning arms and water-tank base in the simplest white finish. Choose ROMO A when the transparent robot and its bristle-and-rubber roller are worth the step-up, but a transparent station is not. Choose ROMO P only when you specifically want the transparent robot and station plus its extra floor-deodorizer dispensing and dust-bag UV functions. The premium does not buy a different obstacle-sensing architecture.

DJI lists the same high-performance binocular fisheye vision sensors and wide-angle solid-state LiDAR across ROMO P, A and S. The official comparison also gives all three the same headline 25,000 Pa suction rating and 164 mL onboard tank. That means a buyer should not assume P maps better, avoids obstacles better or has more suction merely because it is the flagship.
Claim context: suction, obstacle detection and “maintenance-free” language come from DJI tests and conditions. Home layout, lighting, reflective surfaces, firmware, hair type and consumable condition can change real results.

IS P WORTH IT?
Use a three-question upgrade test
- Will the station be visible?If it sits in a prominent open-plan room, P’s transparent station can be a real design choice. In a utility room, that premium is harder to justify.
- Will you use the deodorizer function?P is the relevant model when floor deodorizer dispensing is part of the routine. If not, this feature should not carry weight in the decision.
- Do you value the transparent robot enough for A?A is the clean midpoint: the visible mechanical robot and specified roller upgrade without paying for a transparent base and P-only station functions.
“Flagship” is worth it only when its exclusive features become part of the weekly routine. Shared headline specifications are not a reason to upgrade.

“200 days maintenance-free” does not mean zero upkeep
DJI’s footnote limits “maintenance-free” to the base station washboard under its test definition. It does not remove the need to refill clean water, empty or manage dirty water, replace consumables, clear obstructions or care for the robot. Treat the statement as a base-station washboard claim, not a promise that the complete cleaning system can be ignored for 200 days.
