Bigger tanks reduce refills but increase everything around them.
A higher-capacity aircraft needs more water or product at the staging area, larger mixing and transfer capability, heavier batteries, stronger transport, more charging power and more disciplined crew separation.
Capacity pays only when the aircraft stays busy.
T70P and T100 are strongest where high daily acreage, heavy spreading or commercial service demand can absorb their higher system cost.
Flow rate is not the same as canopy coverage.
Test droplet size, water volume, swath, speed, height, row geometry, terrain, drift and label directions on the actual crop.
Newer sensing does not remove crew responsibility.
Wires, dead branches, fine objects, poor light, rain, fog, speed and obstacle material can reduce sensing performance.
Charge time is only one part of turnaround.
Design the generator, charger, cooling, battery rotation, fuel, cable routing, fire separation and staging workflow together.
T100 is not simply a larger T70P.
Transport Canada classifies drones over 25 kg and up to 150 kg as medium. Drones over 150 kg are large and require permission as special operations. That creates a material difference in deployment time, documentation and operating approval.

Which is better: DJI Agras T50, T70P or T100?
T50 is the most balanced current platform for many Canadian farms. T70P is the stronger choice when a 70 L tank, 400 kg/min spreading, lifting and higher throughput are needed without crossing 150 kg. T100 is the maximum-capacity option, but its large-drone category requires a Special Flight Operations Certificate in Canada.
Is T70P a direct replacement for T50?
T70P is a new-generation scale-up, not a drop-in replacement. Its spraying system is not compatible with T50's, and the larger aircraft uses a new power, remote-controller, safety, spreading and lifting ecosystem.
Is DJI Agras T100 legal to fly in Canada?
T100 can potentially operate in Canada, but its published maximum takeoff weights are above 150 kg. That makes it a large drone and requires an SFOC-RPAS for the planned special operation, plus every other applicable aviation, pesticide, provincial, insurance and site requirement.
Why is T70P important for Canadian operators?
T70P provides a substantial jump to 70 L spraying, 70 kg spreading, 65 kg lifting, 40 L/min optional flow and 20 m/s operation speed, while DJI's published MTOW remains at or below 130 kg. That keeps it within the medium-drone category rather than the large category.
How much can each model spread?
T50 carries 50 kg in a 75 L spreading tank and reaches up to 108 kg/min. T70P carries 70 kg in a 100 L tank and reaches up to 400 kg/min. T100 carries 100 kg in a 150 L tank and also reaches up to 400 kg/min under DJI's material-specific test conditions.
Which model is best for orchard spraying?
Do not choose only by tank size. T50 may be easier to stage and transport. T70P and T100 provide more flow and newer safety systems. The correct answer requires a demo using the actual canopy, row width, slope, spray volume, droplet size, weather and label directions.
Which model is best for custom applicators?
T50 is the lower-risk entry platform. T70P is compelling for higher daily utilization while remaining medium class. T100 may suit high-volume commercial operators that can support an SFOC, heavier transport, larger refill systems, stronger power and higher capital exposure.
Do T50 and T70P need an SFOC?
Not automatically for every VLOS operation under the current Canadian rules. Both are medium drones under their published maximum takeoff weights. The pilot, aircraft declaration, operating distance, airspace and intended operation must fit Advanced or another permitted category. Operations outside those permissions still require an SFOC.
Can all three models spray pesticides in Ontario?
Potentially, but the pesticide must permit aerial application under Health Canada's current policy and label. Ontario Aerial-class licensing, Transport Canada rules, PPE, crew roles, insurance, records and all product directions still apply.
Which model has the fastest charging workflow?
T70P with the lighter DB1580 has the shortest published reference at 7-8 minutes from 30 to 95 percent under qualifying conditions. T70P with DB2160 and T100 are listed at 8-9 minutes. T50 is commonly referenced at about 9 minutes under its qualifying fast-charge workflow.
How much do the three drones cost in Canada?
