T50 is designed for farms and service providers that need flexible access, spraying and spreading without sending a ground machine into every block. It is strongest when wet fields, tall crops, edges, small blocks, orchards, spot work or timing create a recurring operational problem.

A larger flow number does not prove coverage or efficacy. The correct setup depends on the product label, crop, target, application volume, droplet class, swath, speed, height, wind, temperature, humidity and acceptable drift risk.

Droplet control begins at the sprinkler.

The centrifugal sprinklers support 50-500 micrometre droplets. The operator still validates the selected droplet class, flow, speed and swath against the label, crop and weather.

Material behaviour matters more than the hopper label.

T50 is designed for compatible dry granules. Material diameter, density, moisture, surface smoothness, bridging, dust, breakage and gate selection all affect calibration and uniformity.

Gate selection, material condition, disk speed, flight speed, height, overlap and wind must be calibrated for the actual seed or granular fertilizer. DJI's 108 kg/min maximum was measured with 4 mm urea.

Fast charging depends on battery temperature and power.

The matching cooling and charging workflow is part of the system. A headline charge time is not achievable with weak electrical service, the wrong cable or a battery outside the specified temperature range.

The aircraft, pilot, pesticide and business must all be legal.

T50's spraying and spreading takeoff weights place it in Canada's medium-drone category. Pesticide application adds a separate federal label and Ontario licensing system. Meeting one layer does not satisfy the others.

Medium-drone VLOS operations require Advanced privileges or higher.

SPN2026-02 permits RPAS use only for products that already allow conventional aerial application.

Ontario aerial pesticide licensing

Ontario requires an Aerial-class land exterminator licence for aerial land extermination.

  • Do not assume a normal farm exemption covers aerial application.

  • Confirm any applicable permit or notification requirements.

Separate piloting, pesticide preparation and contaminated work.

  • The pilot should not mix pesticide.

The 2,000 m configurable radius and long communication range are equipment specifications, not permission to fly beyond visual line of sight or outside Canadian airspace rules.

What is DJI Agras T50 used for?

T50 is designed for agricultural surveying, spraying and spreading. It is often used for wet fields, tall crops, field edges, small blocks, orchards, vineyards, spot work, granular spreading and time-sensitive applications.

How much can T50 spray and spread?

DJI specifies a 40 L spray tank with a 40 kg operating payload and a 75 L spread tank with a 50 kg internal load. The DJI Agras app may recommend a lower payload based on altitude and conditions.

Can T50 really spray 50 acres per hour?

DJI measured approximately 50 acres or 21 hectares per hour at 15 L/ha, 11 m swath, 7 m/s and 3 m height. Real field productivity is lower when turning, refilling, travelling, calibrating or operating under different rates, weather and legal limits.

Can T50 legally spray pesticides in Ontario?

Potentially, but only when the product permits aerial application and the operator meets the current Health Canada policy, registered label, Transport Canada, Ontario Aerial-class licence, PPE, crew, insurance and recordkeeping requirements.

What pilot certificate is required for T50?

T50 is a medium drone at its spraying and spreading takeoff weights. Medium-drone VLOS operations require Advanced privileges or higher, and the exact aircraft and operation must meet current Safety Assurance requirements.

Does T50 require an SFOC?

Not automatically for every permitted VLOS medium-drone operation. An SFOC is required when the mission falls outside Basic, Advanced or Level 1 Complex permissions, including certain special, dangerous-payload, event, adverse-weather or higher-complexity operations.

How many batteries are needed?

DJI promotes continuous operation with a pair of batteries under qualifying rapid-charge conditions. Commercial operators may choose three or more batteries for cooling delays, travel, inspections, weak power and redundancy.

How long does it take to charge a DB1560 battery?

DJI specifies approximately 9-12 minutes for a full charge under qualifying conditions and cites about 9 minutes from 30 to 95 per cent using the generator and cooling workflow.

Can T50 replace a ground sprayer?

Not automatically. It is often most valuable as a complementary tool for access, timing, localized work, tall crops, wet fields and difficult blocks. Ground equipment may remain more suitable for other acres and application volumes.

Can T50 spread seed and fertilizer?

It can spread compatible dry granules from 0.5 to 5 mm. Material moisture, density, surface condition and flow behaviour must be tested and calibrated before field use.

How much does DJI Agras T50 cost in Canada?
