Read maximum figures correctly: flight time, payload, charging, wind and transmission figures are measured under stated conditions. Payload, temperature, altitude, wind, battery age, accessories, obstacle avoidance, flight profile and reserve policy will reduce practical mission endurance.
Enterprise flagship
DJI Matrice 400 is the platform for payload-driven programs.
Matrice 400 is the right starting point when the sensor or payload defines the mission.
DJI specifies up to 59 minutes of forward flight, up to 53 minutes of hover, a 6 kg maximum payload and a 15.8 kg maximum takeoff weight. Its IP55 rating, -20°C to 50°C operating range and 25 m/s maximum horizontal speed support more demanding field programs than compact enterprise aircraft.
The airframe supports DJI and compatible third-party payloads for thermal inspection, zoom observation, LiDAR, photogrammetry, spotlighting, loudspeaker work, edge computing and specialized integration. Matrice 400 also adds rotating LiDAR, upward LiDAR, full-colour low-light fisheye sensing and six-direction mmWave radar for power-line-level obstacle sensing.
The buying decision must include payload, gimbal configuration, batteries, charging station, controller, care plan, software, data pipeline and operator procedures. The aircraft price alone does not define the deployed system cost.
Compact mapping system
Matrice 4E is the most efficient compact entry into current DJI enterprise mapping.
Matrice 4E combines a mapping camera, telephoto inspection cameras, laser rangefinding, RTK and intelligent route tools in a portable aircraft.
The 4/3-inch 20 MP wide camera uses a mechanical shutter and supports 0.5-second interval capture. The 70 mm and 168 mm equivalent telephoto cameras can document details without requiring the aircraft to move as close to every target.
It is a strong fit for surveying, construction progress, stockpile measurement, mining, site documentation and routine infrastructure capture. Smart 3D Capture can generate a rough model on the controller and help create more targeted routes around irregular structures.
The major limitation is weather protection. DJI states that Matrice 4E and Matrice 4T have no standard protection level and should avoid water. Canadian teams that need repeatable operation in more difficult weather should compare Matrice 4D or Matrice 400.
Compact thermal and response system
Matrice 4T is the portable response platform for thermal, zoom and night operations.
Matrice 4T puts the sensors most response and inspection teams need into one compact aircraft.
The integrated payload includes 48 MP wide, medium-tele and tele cameras, a 640×512 thermal camera, NIR auxiliary light and a laser rangefinder with a manufacturer-stated maximum measurement range of 1,800 m under defined reflectivity conditions.
Smart detection can assist with identifying vehicles, vessels and subjects in supported workflows. Cruise, FlyTo, observation-area recording and map overlays can reduce pilot workload during search, inspection and situational-awareness missions.
Matrice 4T is a strong choice for utilities, firefighting support, search and rescue, law enforcement, private security, roofing, facility inspection and night operations. It is not waterproof, and thermal readings still require correct emissivity, distance, angle, environment and interpretation.
Dock-ready aircraft
Matrice 4D and 4TD are not simply weatherproof versions of 4E and 4T.
DJI Matrice 4D
Matrice 4D is the mapping and detailed-inspection aircraft for Dock 3. It retains the 4/3-inch 20 MP mechanical-shutter wide camera, 48 MP medium tele, 48 MP tele and laser rangefinder.
Compared with Matrice 4E, it is larger, IP55-rated, uses low-noise anti-ice propellers and increases the maximum forward-flight test result to 54 minutes. It can also operate as a standalone aircraft with RC Plus 2 Enterprise.

Dock 3 can support fixed or vehicle-mounted deployments with Matrice 4D or 4TD, but successful deployment depends on far more than installing the hardware.
The dock is IP56-rated, operates from -30°C to 50°C, includes environmental sensors and charges the aircraft from 15% to 95% in a manufacturer-stated 27 minutes at 25°C. FlightHub 2 supports mission planning, remote operation, data handling and fleet management.
Site selection must address power, network, GNSS, transmission, physical security, drainage, lightning protection, maintenance access, local weather, emergency procedures and the regulatory pathway. Registration and pilot certificate

Advanced and Level 1 Complex
