The Tracking Module is useful when the creator is also the subject.
The module can track a person, vehicle, pet or another selected subject, and RS 5 can display the tracking view and subject selection on its touchscreen. That can reduce the framing burden for a solo presenter, fitness instructor, automotive creator or small team without a dedicated gimbal operator.
It is not a substitute for a camera operator in every scene. DJI publishes limits for crowded human scenes, similar subjects, occlusion, fast vehicle movement and quickly changing pet movement.
The purchase test is whether one person regularly has to manage the camera, gimbal and their own position in the frame. A fixed presenter shot or controlled walk-through can make subject tracking useful on day one. For a rehearsed narrative move with a dedicated operator, the same module may add little. It tracks where the gimbal points; the camera's autofocus remains a separate job.
For wedding work, distinguish controlled portraits from a crowded reception. DJI allows one tracking subject at a time, and overlapping people or similar clothing can interfere. Vehicle tracking is likewise not a high-speed car-following system. Buy the module for repeatable shots you can actually stage, not as a promise to automate every event moment.
The Electronic Briefcase Handle earns its place in low-angle work.
The handle mounts to the RS 5 NATO port and puts a joystick plus gimbal and camera controls into the operator's second grip position. It is most relevant for frequent low-angle moves, event coverage, automotive B-roll and shots that require repeated one-handed repositioning.
Creators who shoot mainly at eye level, work from a tripod or already have a handling setup they prefer may leave it in the case. In that situation, Combo adds cost without changing the final stabilization quality.
A mechanical briefcase handle mainly changes where you hold the rig. The RS 5 Electronic Briefcase Handle also changes where you control it: the joystick and buttons remain under the operator's hand in briefcase position, instead of requiring a reach back to the main grip for every correction. DJI also lists a cold shoe and 1/4-inch mounting point for a suitable monitor or accessory. Camera-button functions still depend on the exact camera-control connection.
Do not confuse this RS 5 electronic handle with older mechanical briefcase handles. DJI lists compatibility with RS 5 and expressly warns against using the RS 5 Electronic Briefcase Handle on RS 4, RS 4 Pro or older gimbals because its signal-blocking structure can damage them. Which accessory would you actually reach for?
The two Combo additions solve different problems. Tracking reduces the need to steer the gimbal toward a chosen subject; the electronic handle keeps controls available while holding the rig low. Neither is a universal improvement to every shot.
Solo presenter or real-estate walk-through
The Enhanced module has the clearer value when the person appearing on camera also has to run the setup, or when a small crew needs to keep a presenter framed while moving through a space. The electronic handle matters if the shot list also calls for repeated waist- or knee-height movement. A mostly tripod-based talking head may use the module but rarely touch the handle.
Automotive creator
A controlled vehicle reveal can use the module to keep one car selected while the operator moves. The handle makes more sense for wheel, bumper and body-line passes where the rig stays in briefcase position and the operator needs quick joystick correction. DJI's vehicle limitations still rule out treating this as a high-speed tracking rig.
Wedding and event videographer
The handle may be the more dependable purchase reason for low-angle decor, shoes, tables and venue details. Tracking can help with a controlled single-subject portrait, but a crowded reception has occlusion, similar attire and unpredictable crossing subjects. An operator should still plan to steer manually when the scene becomes busy.
Small commercial crew or dedicated operator
With a person already assigned to gimbal movement and rehearsed blocking, automated subject tracking may be less important than precise manual composition. A crew might still value the handle for planned low-angle moves. If neither accessory is regularly on the shot list, Standard gives the same core RS 5 stabilization platform.

Standard is the cleaner purchase when...
