01 / Freeze the configuration

Do not transfer one AS2 model's capability to another.

AS2 AIR

Use only when the required route and output fit the AIR configuration. Unitree lists no protection rating and no secondary development for AIR; the remote controller is optional in the official table.

AS2 PRO

Unitree lists ISS 3.0, industrial LiDAR, IP54 and a supplied remote, but no secondary development. Confirm the exact functions needed by the site.

AS2 EDU

Use when secondary development or the listed charging-dock and compute-expansion path is part of the project. Define the interface, code ownership, cybersecurity and support boundary before testing.

Version-control note: do not use a single weight, torque, runtime or payload headline for the entire AS2 family. Unitree's official table assigns different values and options to different configurations and states that laboratory results vary with use conditions.

Test the intended job from start to recovery.

  1. Configuration identityPhotograph labels and accessories. Record robot model, battery and charger, LiDAR, remote, payload, firmware or software versions, development package and enabled network features.
  2. Route repeatabilityMark the start, waypoints, stairs, slopes, narrow clearances, surfaces and no-go zones. Run the same route multiple times and log manual interventions, stops, contacts and deviations.
  3. Payload behaviourTest the real mounted payload, cable routing and centre-of-mass effect. Measure stability, clearance, data quality and energy use. Stay within the exact model's current limits and mounting guidance.
  4. Network boundaryUse the approved SSID, firewall, account, device-management and data rules. Test expected coverage and controlled loss of connection. GPS and 4G availability are configuration-dependent and should not be assumed.
  5. Runtime and turnaroundMeasure the complete work cycle under realistic load and surface conditions. Record battery start and finish, pauses, temperature, charging time, operator time and the reserve needed for safe recovery.
  6. Safe stop and recoveryDefine exclusion distance, authorized operators, stop command, loss-of-control response, obstacle or fall recovery and manual handling. Unitree warns users to maintain a safe distance from this powerful dynamic machine.

03 / Evidence package

Accept evidence, not impressions.

The final review should compare results with the pre-approved thresholds. A pilot can still be useful when it fails, because it reveals the route change, payload redesign, network work or operator coverage needed for a viable deployment. What matters is that the conclusion follows the recorded trials.

Route log

Trial number, start and finish, route completion, intervention count, location of each issue and repeatability across runs.

Payload output

Required images, sensor records or business data, with completeness, quality, timestamp and transfer method checked.

Safety record

Exclusion zone, operator positions, stop events, near misses, surface contacts, falls and recovery actions.

Duty-cycle record

Battery state, run time, charging time, temperature, pauses, operator time and realistic work completed per cycle.

Sample acceptance rule: replace vague wording such as "works well" with a site-specific threshold such as "complete the approved route for five consecutive trials, deliver every required record and require no unplanned physical intervention." Choose your own threshold through a site safety and operational review.
