DJI Lito X1 • Combo buying guide
Choose the kit.
Keep the camera decision simple.
The meaningful upgrades are your controller, the batteries you carry and the operating-weight trade-off—not a different camera in every box.

Choose the standard DJI Lito X1 for the lowest upfront cost, Fly More RC-N3 for three batteries with a phone-based controller, or Fly More RC 2 for a dedicated-screen setup with Standard batteries. Consider Fly More Plus RC 2 when longer single-flight endurance matters enough to accept the heavier battery configuration and its Canadian operating requirements. Plus is not the automatic best buy.
The four main packages use the Lito X1 camera platform. Your purchase decision is mostly about how you start a flight, how many separate flights you can prepare for and which battery you install. RC 2 does not turn the aircraft into a higher-spec camera drone; three batteries do not create one continuous flight.

The 36- and 52-minute figures are DJI test maxima, not promised recording time. Battery type, flight conditions and reserve planning matter. The Plus package is not a sub-250g recommendation.
Availability is separate from price. At the checked date, the base and ordinary Fly More pages displayed backorder notices with ordering enabled. The plain Plus listing displayed Sold Out despite a backorder banner. Do not read this table as a same-day pickup or immediate-shipping promise; check the current buy box and ask about your required date.
Standard Lito X1: who is it for?
The C$519 package makes sense when you want the aircraft at the lowest initial price and expect short, occasional sessions. You receive RC-N3 and one Standard battery. The listed box does not include the Fly More Charging Hub or shoulder bag.
A phone-based controller can be entirely suitable for a capable pilot. Before choosing it, check DJI Fly compatibility, the phone's physical fit and the right connection cable for your device. An expensive phone is not automatically compatible simply because it has a good camera.
The limitation is the day around the flight: once that battery needs charging, you cannot swap in a second included pack. If your typical outing is a short local session with an easy return home, that may be acceptable. If you already know you want several flights at different locations, compare the complete Fly More package rather than assuming the base price represents the whole setup you will buy.
Is Fly More worth the extra C$220?
Moving from C$519 to C$739 keeps RC-N3 and the same aircraft, but increases the included Standard batteries from one to three. It also adds the Hub, shoulder bag and more spare propellers. The premium mainly buys session flexibility and a more organised carrying setup, not better image quality.
For a road trip, a cottage visit or several permitted shooting locations, extra packs let you land, swap and prepare another flight without waiting for that first battery to recharge. They also let you stop a flight with an appropriate reserve instead of stretching it simply because it is your only pack.
Three manufacturer maxima must not be presented as 108 minutes of uninterrupted flying. You still land between packs, manage their condition and plan each departure around the current environment. The Hub is also not a mains power adapter; the current core kit lists do not list a wall charger, so confirm the charging equipment you will use.
Fly More is easier to justify when those extra sessions are part of your normal use. For an occasional pilot who will rarely use a second battery, the lowest-cost package may remain the sensible choice. This is a workflow judgement, not a claimed saving against unverified accessory retail prices.
RC-N3 vs DJI RC 2: phone-based or built-in screen?
RC-N3 uses your compatible phone as the display and DJI Fly interface. Your preparation includes mounting the phone, connecting it and opening the app. That is a lower-cost phone-based workflow—not a “beginner-only” control system.
RC 2 has its own 5.5-inch, 1920×1080 screen, specified at 700 nits. DJI Fly is preinstalled for the Lito X1 workflow. It removes the repeated phone-mounting step and leaves your phone available for other tasks. The aircraft's camera does not change when you choose it.
A dedicated screen can make a kit easier to pick up regularly, but it is not a promise of instant flight with no preparation. Charge the controller, check the aircraft and complete necessary updates. DJI's activation guidance calls for an internet connection through Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot when first setting up RC 2 and the aircraft.
Phones differ in brightness, battery condition and app support. Those differences affect convenience; they do not justify saying every RC-N3 setup has a worse live view or that a phone notification automatically disconnects the aircraft. Choose the interface you can keep ready and use comfortably.

Is RC 2 worth the extra C$140?
The C$739 and C$879 Fly More packages both contain three Standard batteries, a Hub and a shoulder bag. Their current C$140 difference therefore gives you a clean decision: how much is avoiding the phone-based setup worth to you?
For frequent travel filming or spontaneous sessions, a dedicated controller screen may be worth that premium. If you fly occasionally, already have a suitable phone and do not mind mounting it, RC-N3 can leave more room in your budget. There is no need to buy RC 2 to unlock the Lito X1's underlying camera specification.
Fly More vs Fly More Plus: what does C$100 change?
The ordinary RC 2 Fly More kit is C$879; the RC 2 Plus kit is listed at C$979. Both have three batteries, the Hub and the bag. Plus changes the installed battery type rather than giving you a fourth pack or another camera.
DJI quotes up to 36 minutes with the Standard battery and 52 minutes with Plus. Its maximum-flight test uses controlled windless-equivalent conditions, forward flight, no active video recording and flight to forced landing from battery depletion. Neither figure is the time you should plan to spend recording before beginning a safe return. See the exact DJI battery and flight-time specifications.
The meaningful reason to consider Plus is a longer individual sortie, not merely more batteries for the day. If separate shorter flights suit your work, three Standard packs may already solve the practical problem. If one longer flight matters, evaluate Plus together with weight, operating requirements and current availability—not only the C$100 difference.
Important for Canada: Battery Plus and the 250g rule
The installed battery matters; the controller you hold on the ground does not. DJI lists the standard takeoff configuration at approximately 249g and states that Plus takes the aircraft above 249g. It also lists battery masses of approximately 74g and 118g—a 44g increase. Plus is not a marginal change that preserves the Standard configuration's sub-250g buying argument.
Transport Canada defines a microdrone by operating weight below 250g, including equipment attached to or carried by the aircraft. Microdrone pilots do not need ordinary drone registration or a drone pilot certificate, but that does not remove other operating rules. Read the current microdrone guidance.
At 250g or more, registration is required and the applicable pilot certification and operating category must be addressed. Your intended operation and airspace matter; buying Plus or RC 2 does not establish eligibility for an Advanced operation. Check registration requirements and the operation-category guidance.
Count the configuration that actually flies
Aircraft + installed battery + attached or carried equipment
Ground controller + spare batteries and accessories remaining in your bag
If staying in the microdrone category is important, Standard batteries are the appropriate starting point, followed by checking the complete flown setup. Do not assume an ND filter or other attached equipment has zero weight. A Starter Kit can include both aircraft-mounted and ground-only accessories; assess them differently.
Even a qualifying microdrone is not permission to fly anywhere. In particular, Parks Canada prohibits recreational drone use at its places. A holiday destination is not automatically a legal shooting site. Check Parks Canada's drone rules and the requirements for the actual location. This is general buying context, not individualized operating authorization.
Already own a DJI RC 2?
An existing compatible RC 2 can change the best-value order. The exact Lito X1 FAQ confirms RC 2 support. Verify the exact controller, current firmware and linking requirements; “DJI RC” is not a generic interchangeable label for every screen-equipped controller.
SpeedyDrone's ordinary RC 2 Fly More listing currently offers a customer-authorized removal option. You pay the full bundle price at checkout, authorize SpeedyDrone to open the package and remove only the included RC 2, and receive a C$200 plus applicable-tax refund after checkout. The other bundle items remain included.
On the C$879 price snapshot, C$879 minus C$200 is C$679 in merchandise cost after that refund. It is not a C$679 checkout price or a promise of a particular checkout tax total. If you already own RC 2, it may avoid paying for an unnecessary second controller or choosing an RC-N3 kit only to obtain another controller you will not use.
There is a condition to weigh with the saving: because the original package is opened and adjusted at your request, the listing says it may not qualify as a sealed or unopened return. This is not a blanket statement that every return or warranty right disappears. Read the current authorization and return terms, and confirm the option before ordering if anything is unclear.
Ask SpeedyDrone to confirm your existing RC 2 and removal option before relying on the calculation.
What about SpeedyDrone Starter Kits?
Choose the controller and battery type first. A Starter Kit then adds carrying and filming accessories, not another aircraft tier. The RC-N3 version currently lists an ND8/16/32/64 set, landing pad and AEROVAULT case; the two RC 2 versions also list a screen protector.
These additions are useful if you actually want that filter set and protective case. They are less compelling if you already own suitable accessories or want the lightest carrying setup. ND filters manage light for an exposure choice; they do not automatically improve every image. Confirm the exact kit rather than judging Standard versus Plus by a shared product photograph.

For occasional short sessions and a strict initial budget, start with the base package. For repeated flights while keeping a phone-based interface, Fly More RC-N3 is the practical step up. For frequent use with a dedicated screen and Standard batteries, ordinary Fly More RC 2 is the balanced option—not a universal winner.
Choose Plus for a genuine single-flight endurance need after addressing the heavier configuration and operating requirements. Existing RC 2 owners should check the removal option before paying for another controller. Add a Starter Kit only when the extra accessories solve a real carrying or filming need.
Before checkout, confirm your exact battery type and count, phone or controller readiness, charging equipment, flown weight, current selling status and any removal authorization. If your shooting date is fixed, resolve fulfilment timing first. DJI Lito X1 combo FAQ
Is DJI Lito X1 under 250g in Canada?
The Standard-battery takeoff configuration is listed at approximately 249g. Canada's definition uses actual operating weight below 250g, not a model-name label. Include anything attached to or carried by the aircraft when checking your setup. A controller and spare pack on the ground are different from equipment fitted to the drone. Standard batteries support the lightweight buying case, but added equipment and manufacturing variation mean you should check the complete configuration rather than assume every setup qualifies.
Does Battery Plus keep Lito X1 in the microdrone category?
Do not choose Plus on that assumption. DJI says it takes the aircraft above 249g and lists the Plus battery at about 118g versus 74g for Standard. That is a substantial increase. Transport Canada's threshold is below 250g operating weight; a configuration at or above that threshold needs registration and the applicable operating category and certification. No exact fully equipped Plus weight is promised here. Check the real configuration and current rules before flying.
Should I choose RC-N3 or DJI RC 2?
Choose RC-N3 if a compatible phone-based setup works for you and the lower package price matters. Choose RC 2 if a separate built-in screen is worth the current C$140 premium between ordinary Fly More kits. Both control the Lito X1; RC 2 does not supply a better aircraft sensor. Think about how often you fly, whether you want your phone free and how readily you can keep each setup charged and prepared.
Do I need a phone with DJI RC 2?
You do not need to mount a phone as the flight display because RC 2 has a built-in screen and DJI Fly preinstalled for this workflow. Initial controller and aircraft activation still require internet access; DJI specifies Wi-Fi or a smartphone hotspot. Updates and account setup also need planning. The useful distinction is avoiding the repeated phone-mounted flying interface, not a promise that the complete system never needs connectivity or preparation.
Is Lito X1 Fly More worth it for occasional use?
Not necessarily. Its main benefit is being ready for separate flights with three batteries, plus the Hub and bag. If your normal outing ends after a short session and you can recharge at home, one included pack may be enough. If you visit several permitted locations or want more practice sessions without waiting for charging, Fly More becomes easier to justify. Compare the complete kit you need, not only the lowest aircraft price.
What comes with the ordinary Fly More combos?
The checked RC-N3 and RC 2 Fly More listings include the Lito X1, their named controller, three Standard batteries, Charging Hub, shoulder bag and listed basic accessories. Plus changes those three batteries to the Plus type. A Starter Kit adds the separately listed retailer accessories; it is not the same as ordinary Fly More. Check the exact box list and power-adapter arrangements before buying. The Hub should not be mistaken for a wall charger.
Can I use my existing DJI RC 2 and save C$200?
DJI confirms Lito X1 compatibility with RC 2, subject to preparing and linking the correct equipment. SpeedyDrone's eligible RC 2 bundle option requires full-price checkout and customer authorization to open the package and remove its controller, followed by a C$200 plus applicable-tax refund. Other contents stay included. The listing warns that the opened order may not meet sealed/unopened return conditions. Confirm the current option rather than assuming every package or separate controller purchase qualifies.
Which combo is best for travel?
Ordinary Fly More RC 2 suits travellers who want a dedicated screen and several separate flights with Standard batteries. Fly More RC-N3 suits those comfortable using a phone; neither is best for every trip. Check carrying needs, charging access, current availability and the rules at your destination. Canadian microdrone status does not transfer automatically abroad. DJI also notes combo-specific Plus restrictions in the EU and UK, and recreational drone use at Parks Canada places is prohibited.
Which Lito X1 combo is best for beginners?
Beginner status alone does not decide the package. A budget-conscious learner can use the base RC-N3 kit with a suitable phone. Someone expecting repeated practice sessions may value three batteries; someone wanting a dedicated interface may prefer RC 2. Plus should answer an endurance need, not be bought merely because it is the most expensive factory-style kit. Every option still needs preparation, safe judgement and compliance with the rules for its flown configuration.
