The streamlined route for experienced pilots: our flagship online Drone Ground School plus your in-person Flight Review. Learn online to pass Transport Canada’s Advanced written exam, then come to the droneHUB to complete the flight review and earn the full Advanced licence.
Who This Is For
This is the budget-friendly option for experienced drone pilots who already fly confidently and do not need hands-on flight training. Flying a drone of 250 grams or more requires a Transport Canada pilot certificate; this program covers the two remaining steps to the Advanced certificate — the written exam and the flight review.
What Is Included
Online Drone Ground School
Self-paced online learning with live webinars, covering the knowledge areas for the Transport Canada Advanced written exam: air law, airspace management, navigation, meteorology, flight planning, theory of flight, human factors and radio communications — plus a practical approach built on real flight scenarios such as film-making, search and rescue, survey and inspections.
In-Person Flight Review
The 1-hour in-person flight review at AlteX droneHUB — the final step to your Pilot Certificate – Advanced Operations.
Hands-on flight training is not included in this option. If you want instructor-led flight training before your review, choose the Complete Program with Flight Training instead.
Duration & Schedule
- Online Ground School: 20 hours of online learning — learn at your own pace, with live webinar support
- Flight review sessions run every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday — book after enrollment
- Program access: extended 6-month program access included

Before You Book
- This option assumes you already have the flight skills to pass a flight review — no instructor-led training is included
- Training and course completion do not guarantee certification. The Advanced Pilot Certificate is issued by Transport Canada according to its requirements
